Is This Workshop for You?

If you've ever wanted to transform a preloved textile into something wearable, this workshop is for you! In this hands-on class, you'll create a one-of-a-kind pair of shorts to wear at home or out and about, using thrifted, vintage or secondhand textiles.

Bring your own scraps, quilt tops, bath towels, bed sheets, tablecloths, or other textiles from home or a local thrift shop. Not sure what to use? Karen will have Kantha quilts available for purchase at the event for $15 each — a wonderful option for a first upcycle project.

What to Expect

• • You'll learn the construction techniques and step-by-step process for creating an upcycled pair of lounge/boxer style shorts from your chosen textile.
  • Most students leave with a completed, ready-to-wear garment. 
  • Expect clear instruction, helpful guidance, creative inspiration, and plenty of encouragement along the way!
