Moth Plushies

In this specialized sewing class students will create a whimsical moth/butterfly plush. It's a step-by-step guide to creating your own unique soft, nature inspired plush using repurposed fur piece scraps. You can choose to make it 3D or make it flat to use as a wall hanging for decoration or sew a pin or clasp to wear on a dress. This class is perfect for anyone who loves working with unusual materials and creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind art pieces.

Students will learn how to:

  • Sew with fur scraps, properly cut and prepare pieces from patterns.
  • Adapt patterns for wings, antenna and legs.
  • Add detailed customizations such as wing patterns and eyes using embellish beads, and other craft materials.

By the end of the class, you’ll have a beautiful, nature-inspired moth or butterfly plush to take home. Plus, you’ll walk away with skills to incorporate fur scraps into other projects, turning leftovers into stunning and sustainable art pieces!
