The Sewing Labs

This is the perfect chill summer outerwear for lounging by the pool, working in the garden, hiking or you can use as a swimsuit cover. Its an enjoyable project to experiment with color matching the trim to customize it to your own style. This class is designed for intermediate and beginner sewists. This class will guide you step-by-step through the process of making your own unique custom jacket using breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, rayon and more.  The pattern is one size but can be altered to be a little more fitted or more oversized.  This project requires basic sewing machine knowledge and garment construction. You will be refreshed on seam finishes, buttons and buttonholes, fabric cutting and pocket installation. 

All materials are included in the class, but you are welcome to bring your own. 

By the end of this class, students will be able to:

-Complete and take home a personalized one of a kind jacket.

-Understand how to cut fabric efficiently and accurately.

-Learn essential garment construction techniques like attaching sleeves, pockets, hems, buttons and seam finishes.
