About Threadventures

Threadventures is a delightful day camp designed for preteen/teen sewists. Whether your child is a just learning how to sew or has lots sewing experience, they’ll find joy in creating fabric wonders inspired by rich diversity.

Camp Overview:

• Duration: One week
• Age Group: 10-14 years old
• Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate (Previous sewing experience required)

Theme: Sewing Around the World This year, our camp theme is "Sewing Around the World." Through engaging sewing activities, campers will discover the rich diversity of textile arts across different cultures. From Asia to South America, each day will be filled with exciting projects that reflect the unique heritage of various regions.

Activities and Projects: Throughout the week, campers will have the opportunity to create a variety of culturally-inspired projects, including but not limited to:

• Japanese Furoshiki Bags: Learn the art of fabric wrapping and create versatile bags inspired by Japanese traditions.
• South American Worry Dolls: Explore the folklore of South America while crafting intricate worry dolls using fabric scraps and yarn.
• Peruvian Llama Plushies: Dive into the vibrant culture of Peru as you stitch adorable llama plushies, inspired by the Andean highlands.

Camp Experience: At The Sewing Labs, we believe in hands-on learning and fostering creativity in a supportive environment. Our experienced instructors and volunteers will provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring that each camper feels confident in their sewing skills while having fun exploring new techniques and materials.

Important Notes:

• Campers should have basic knowledge of sewing techniques such as threading a needle, winding a bobbin, sewing straight lines, and tying knots.
• All materials will be provided, including fabric, thread, needles, and embellishments.

• Time: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM daily
• Materials: All sewing materials provided
• Snacks: Two healthy and allergy friendly snacks will be provided each day Parents, please provide a lunch for your child
